Yes. Your policy must cover trekking up to the highest altitude of your trek (6,000 m to be safe) and helicopter evacuation. We check every policy before departure.
Most nationalities get a visa on arrival at Kathmandu airport: USD 30 for 15 days, USD 50 for 30 days. You can fill in the form online before you fly.
A 20% deposit reserves your place. The balance is due 60 days before departure, by card or bank transfer. Prices include all permits, guides, porters, teahouses and meals on the trek.
You can change dates for free up to 60 days before departure. Cancellations after that follow a sliding scale, which is why we ask everyone to have cancellation cover.
Absolutely. About half our trekkers come alone. You’ll share a twin room with another solo trekker of the same gender, or pay a supplement for your own room.
Not straight from the tap. Teahouses sell boiled water, and we give every trekker purification tablets so you don’t need plastic bottles.
Tipping is customary and much appreciated. A guide is usually tipped USD 10–15 per day and a porter USD 8–10 per day, shared by the group at the end of the trek.
